Although The old town of Fez, listed as world heritage by the Unesco is
considered as the most beautiful medina in Morocco. Its visit requires time,
particularly if you want to see more than the touristic places and feel the
true atmosphere of this unique medina. |

guides can be booked in most hotels and riads. The average cost is 150
dhs for a half day and 250 dhs for a day. Tips are not included in
these rates. Beware of false guides. The medina of Fez is too
exceptional to be visited with a false guide whose aim is only to take
you to shops.

Six thematic itineraries, each with a different color, have
been signposted through the medina,
allowing you to visit the medina on your own according
to your interests. You just have to follow signs of one color
depending on the chosen theme, one side of the sign shows
the direction to follow. See example on the left: the white arrow
up shows the direction to follow (straight) to discover the "andalou gardens and palaces
of Fez", an itinerary marked with green signs.
